Fisherman missing after clash at sea

One person is reportedly missing at sea following a confrontation
between two groups of fishermen in the sea off Samudragama in
Trincomalee.
It is said that several fishermen who went to sea from Samudragama recently were attacked by another group of fishermen that had arrived on board a vessel.
Trincomalee Police had later received a complaint that one of the boat’s passengers, an 18-year-old from Samudragama, was missing following the incident.
Two suspects were arrested in connection to the incident and were remanded till July 13 after being produced before the ZTrincomalee Magistrate.
Meanwhile police said that three more individuals were arrested by Harbour Police under suspicion of incident.
Harbour Police is conducting further investigations.
